i know it has been a long time since i have had an entry in this blog
but come on people! i've been entertaining guests!
ryan (my bro) and michelle (my sister in law) have been visiting and we have been having a COMPLETE blast! including 3 trips to ikea.... yay!

we had an "emotional roller coaster" with the price is right, which ended in a downer.
apparently, everyone had veteran's day off and decided to come to the price is right.
even though we arrived at 6:00 am (gates opened at 7:30), so did 700 other people and we did not make it on (which we were told 6 hours later!!!!)
so, sadness set in.
but on the way home, we stopped at our favorite place in san diego: encinitas. and it was a totally beautiful day and the waves were beautiful and the cliffs and the sky and ahhhhhhhh......... I LOVE LIVING HERE! have i mentioned that yet?
by the way, grammy, any time you want to take up residence in our guest bedroom, you are more than welcome!!! it was so fun to get a letter from you with the words "blog" and "blogspot" in it-my grammy is so hip for those of you who don't know her!

we also came home to some sad news that matt's great uncle rich died.
we'll miss him but we'll see him again someday in heaven. he had a heart attack and was on the road to recovery and was able to renew his relationship with jesus before he went Home.
my best memory of uncle rich was when he was dancing with his wife, pearl, and they looked so young and so happy and so in love with each other...
i leave with song lyrics in honor of uncle rich:

what a beautiful piece of heartache
this has all turned out to be
Lord knows we've learned the hard way
all about healthy apathy
and i use these words pretty loosely
there;s so much more to life than words
there is a me you would not recognize, dear
call it the shadow of myself

and if the music starts before i get there
dance without me
you dance so gracefully
i really think i'll be okay

they've taken their toll, these latter days
ah but baby if all else fails
nothing is ever quite what it seems
and i'm dying inside to leave you
with more than just cliches

and if the music starts before i get there
dance without me
you dance so gracefully
i really think i'll be okay

tell them its real
tell them its really real
