happy birthday to my brother ryan good, catching up with me at the age of 27!
and an early happy birthday to my friend teri, is it 30 this year? wow!
also, note to dad: #1--no, you guys don't really rip into all the presents at once, at least not the past couple of years i've been with you, but matt is always reminicent of the old days!
#2-be expecting 2 packages in the mail--more mobil stuff--extra christmas presents!

matt and i went out with our friends marnie and ed last night. they moved here this spring from seattle and are still exploring san diego like we are. we went to this cool club called the W, where the top floor was out on a deck outside and they had a huge fire pit, sand, and cool little cabanas to sit in. we had a drink and then walked to little italy for dinner at an italian joint. such a fun time!

today we're going to get a surfboard and wetsuits--can't wait!
bye people,
tracey

helllooooooooooo everyone!
after ages of not writing, i am back!

we had a great christmas with our families in cincy and in BG.
quick rundown of the highlights were:
-dec 22nd: matt gave me a mountain bike for christmas!!!

-dec 23rd: arrived in cincy @ 7:30 pm to hang with mom and dad good--mom had skyline dip all ready for her favorite son-in-law, who snarfed it down instantly. and chat fest/wrap fest (you can't take wrapped packages on the plane, so we had to do all our wrapping in cincy) until bed time!

-dec. 24th: christmas eve festivities including baking 7 dozen cookies (like we didn't have enough food already!) and hanging out with kevin, ryan and michelle, who all came in town late afternoon. a bit of a scare
at 10:00 pm, when we received a call from emily's (kevin's fiancee) parents, saying she had been in a car accident and they were going to the emergency room. thankfully, "only" a broken arm and finger--on top of recovering from a tonsilectomy (spelling?)--yikes!

dec. 25th: merry christmas! grammy, granddad, aunt deedee, uncle bob, and jonathan came over around 10:30 am for the greed and avarice! ridiculous amounts of presents under the tree, on the floor, by the fireplace, in the kitchen, etc.... and marathon present opening until 3:00 pm! (okay, we took a break in the middle for brunch!). my family opens presents one at a time, announcing who gave the present and then oohing and ahhing while others politely look on until it is the next person's turn. this is fun for me because i grew up doing it this way and it also enables me to see the fun things everyone else gets! this method of present-opening is difficult for matt to endure, as he grew up with everyone ripping into their presents at the same time! he's such a good sport!!! more food was consumed later that night at the burns house, where we hung out in jonathan's crib and played pool, playstation 2, electronic darts--yeah! i wasted michelle!!!! (what? oh. okay, i was standing closer to the dartboard than she was, being my first time playing and all...).

dec. 26th- after christmas shopping time! let's just say that michelle and i spent an embarrassing amount of time in bath and body works! then on to a chinese buffet for dinner. i tried sushi for the first time (it was okay, but nothing i would crave or order by itself).

dec. 27th- more shopping, relaxing, eating, and chatting with the family
dec. 28th- ditto
dec. 29th- mom and dad good drove matt and i up to dayton to wish emily a merry christmas on our way up to BG. she had a fun green cast and her dog, radar, was hilarious! (kevin had taken him to see santa and they had a picture of him on santa's lap!!!) then on to piqua for yummy mexican while we met up with mom and dad edwards. we embarrassed our waiter and ourselves as we took an obcene amount of pictures in front of a huge sombrero! we parted ways with the good family and headed up to BG with the edwards folks. there, we were greeted by mary, justin, michael and GRAMPS! present opening ensued (we took turns since it was mostly me and matt + the presents we brought for them)! then we chatted and decided to go bowling with grandpa. WE ALL DID SO BAD, especially matt (heehee! even i beat him!), but had a fun and hilarious time!

dec. 30th- sleeping in, a nice visit with rachael at grounds for thought, and then out to dinner with the whole family at trotters! then we watched "reign of fire" and laughed at matthew mcconaughey (spelling?) flexing and whispering--hilariously cliched b-grade script.

dec. 31st- new years eve! boring BG celebrations of a yummy italian dinner by jay, a strong white russian for matt, a quick stop at the zippays for a game of catchphrase, and home by 11:45 to watch the ball drop on TV with mom and dad edwards. new years resolution #1: never spend another new years eve in BG again!!!

jan 1st- happy new year!!! mary and casey came back to BG (poor casey was sick) and my dear friends, teri and mike, drove all the way from cleveland to spend the day with me. the rest of the family went to see "gangs of new york". teri, mike, and i went to panera for about 4 or 5 hours and caught up on everything. we had such a great time and i was so sad to see them go home. we had a YUMMY dinner made by mom--chicken enchiladas! then we rolled ourselves around and watched more movies, played cranium (hilarious charade done by matt for superstar, which was actually the category, not the charade he was supposed to do, which involved him just standing with outstretched arms--the actual word he was supposed to be acting out was "parachute". i'm laughing at the memory of it as i'm writing this!!!) another funny moment was when justin said, "mike, give me the clay" and mike tossed it across the table. it landed in the oreo cheesecake plate--and so perfectly! it landed in the empty space, and left the rest of pieces unscathed! LOUD LAUGHTER from all the kids; mom and dad = silence. oops. awkward yet so very funny!

jan 2nd- my wonderful friend heidi drove all the way from boardman to spend the afternoon with me. again, we had such a great time and i was so sad to say goodbye. i am blessed with such great lasting friendships--truly sent from God. then we went sledding at night on bill's hill at BGSU. mary had this great inflatable innertube sled and we went down on it together, the destination being a snow ramp at the bottom of the hill. we hit the ramp, got incredible air, and both flew off the sled. i bonked my head twice and just laid there. my neck has been sore ever since--it was almost worth it for the adrenaline rush as we flew up from the ramp, but not really.

jan 3rd- happy anniversary to me and matt! 5 years! it's so hard to believe it has been that long. marraige has been so wonderful that words could never BEGIN to explain it! i got matt a surfboard (back in the big SD) to celebrate our great marraige and our california dream. we packed up and said goodbye to most of the edwards family and mom drove us to the columbus airport. we arrived back HOME at 11:00 pm. it was 62 degrees. HALLELUJAH!!!

so there is the rundown for those of you who didn't get bored and are still reading this! it was hard to get adjusted to our work schedule but we're gradually getting back into the swing of things. being off for so long made me desire that schedule FULL TIME!!

matt's birthday was yesterday--28 years old. we went out to dinner at fred's mexican and had yummy chicken tacos and then went to see "catch me if you can" --very clever!
farewell to you all--i'm tired of sitting at this computer!!
